Shows, New Jams, Tapes, You Name It
We've been busy as hell. We've got two songs from our full length streaming (here) and (here). Our split tapes with Mayflower just came in and will be shipping out next week. Head over to Black Numbers and grab one if you haven't already. We've been booking a bunch of shows as well (details above). You'll notice some dates in faraway places like New Hampshire and maybe a little show in Gainesville known as FEST 10. We'll be rounding out those shows with some more dates to get us there and back. Stay tuned for that. We moved into an intimate new practice space in our new drummer, Brian's, house. You'd know that already if you were following us on Twitter/Tumblr, so get on it. More news regarding our full length is coming soon, including pressing info and pre-orders. Party.
Split Cassette Pre-Orders
Our split cassette with Mayflower is available for pre-order in the Black Numbers Webstore. They'll be shipping out in early July, but if you pre-order, you get a free download immediately. Also, if you don't want the tape, you can just grab the digital version in the BN Digital Store.
Quick Update
We picked up the masters for our half of our split as well as our full-length. We'll be ordering tapes and records this week. Much more news to come. If you wanna stay totally up to date on what's going on with the new record, make sure you follow us on twitter, like us on facebook, and check out our tumblr. More news this week, promise.
Record Updates, Fest 10, Merch, Canada, Etc...
So...first and foremost, we lied about when our tape is coming out. We got the recordings back last week, they sound awesome. We'll be ordering the tapes REALLY soon. Right around then, we'll also be announcing the street date for our full-length debut on Black Numbers & Coffeebreath and Heartache. Sorry for lying. We'll try not to do it again.
In super excellent and totally unrelated news, we've just confirmed that we will be playing at FEST 10 in Gainesville this year. The lineup is fucking ridiculous, and there's still a ton of other bands to be added. We're also playing Pouzza Fest in a few weeks. Montreal, we're coming for you. We're playing at the same time as Lifetime, but we'll try not to let that rain on our parade.
In case you hadn't heard/seen/dreamed about, we have some really sweet new tank tops in our webstore. They have a pot leaf AND an inverted cross on them. Piss off your mom and go buy one: here. There's also a few (5 or so) copies of our hand-screened 12”, "Nothing is Fucked Here," on yellow wax in there. Get 'em while the gettin's good.
More good news coming soon...
Full–Length Completed, Maximum Show Update
Sup? We’ve been busy little beavers. We recorded 12 (or maybe 13) songs with Will Putney for our full–length and split with Mayflower. Stoked to announce that “Sexy Ghosts,” “Unforgiven V,” and our cover of Hot Rod Circuit’s “Versatility” will be on our side of that split tape. Our full–length will feature 10 songs and is untitled as of right now, but we’ll keep you posted there.
You probably noticed all the new shows at the top of this column. Good work. We're in the process of firming up two short weekend tours, one in march with our bros in My Island and then another in May with the oh–so–hung Static Radio. The latter of which includes our first trip across the border. We'll be playing Pouzza Fest along side a hundo or so incredible bands. Check out their site for more info on that.
With spring on the horizon, we've also decided to clear out stock in merch store, particularly on hoodies. You can snag yourself a hoodie over there for $15+shipping. Check out our merch store for that.
Guess that’s about it for now. Keep checking our site/facebook/tea leaves for news on the full length.
Recording & Split Tape News
Boom! Time to hit you up with some news. We’re in the middle of recording for debut full-length. Drums are done and we started the guitars. Everything is sounding awesome and we can’t wait to get it out. That being said, we’re super stoked to announce our upcoming split cassette tape with Mayflower. It’ll be a split release of 100 Cassettes from Shouting Street Audio Cassettes/Black Numbers. More info that here.
We have a shit ton of new photos on our Facebook from the first two days of recording. Go check that out, click ’like’ a bunch of times.
2011 Recording and Show Updates
Happy New Year from your brothers in Banquets!
Just wanted to post a quick update. We have our first show of 2011 scheduled. As you all know, the big snowstorm fucked up Home for the Holidays 2010. We’ll be playing the afterparty on Feb 9th at the Asbury Lanes with The Holy Mess. We’ve got a few other show announcements up our sleeves, but we’ve gotta hold back on those for the time being.
We start recording for our full length on Feb 5th. We’re putting the finishing touches on those songs in the next week or so and we’re stoked to get started. More details soon.
We want to thank the great people over at Punknews.org for including "This is Our Concern, Dude." on their Top 10 EPs of the year list. We tied for #9 with our great buddies, The Holy Mess. Check that out here.
Goodbye, 2010. Hello, Fame & Fortune.
Hey all,
Just checking in with a little bit of info as we are approaching the holidays.
In case you didn’t know how handsome and vibrant us Banqueteers are, the fine people at Punknews posted a video of us playing "Eleanor, I Need A Garden" from Fest weekend. You can check that out here. Please talk some shit on us in the comment section and keep in mind that shortly after our set, I became belligerently intoxicated and got lost in Gainesville with everyone’s favorite foreign ambassador Pugs, while trying to find the Mikey Erg show.
Economics, baby...We started a little promotion with our merch and even came up with a fancy name for it..."Making Banq". Get it? Like a sweet value menu at McDuggin’s, for only $25, you get a "BANQ" hoodie, our debut 7 inch, and a beer koozie. As if you didn’t look fucking awesome enough, drinking beer at the age of 17 and shit. Head over to our webstore for that little nug.
Free Music...we’re giving away our EP "Nothing is Fucked Here" over at the Black Numbers Bandcamp Page. Get into it so you can be properly stoked for the "old shit" once we release our full length.
The Performing Arts...We have solidified our final shows of the year, which include Brooklyn, New Brunswick and another city to be announced next week. Make sure you check out our shows section for all the info and we hope you can make it out so we can share a drink and a laugh. Much of January and February will be spent writing and recording our debut LP on Black Numbers and Coffeebreath & Heartache this Spring.

Fest 9 Weekend Wrapup
We made it home from The Fest 9. It was fucking awesome. Travis is still drunk. We want to thank everybody who came out to our set at 1982 on Friday. You guys rule. It was so awesome to play in front of so many friends, as well as all the new faces. If you didn’t get a chance to see us this weekend, keep an eye on the shows section above to see where we’ll be.
We’ve got a bunch of new limited merch over at our Big Cartel, so be sure to check that out. We’ve got hoodies to keep you warm now that Fall is finally here. There’s also some leftover Fest Edition copies of "This is Our Concern, Dude" that are hand-numbered with hand-screened covers. Limited to 50 copies on blue vinyl. If you slept on getting a copy of "Nothing is Fucked Here," you blew it. We sold the last of ours on our way down to Fest. You may still be able to get a copy from Coffeebreath and Heartache, if you’re lucky.
We’ve got a lot going on over here at Banquets America Headquarters, and we’ll be sure to fill you all in as soon as we can. The best ways to keep up with what’s going on is to follow us on twitter and like us on facebook.
That’s all we’ve got for now, but stay tuned for a lot more news.
Welcome to the new BanquetsAmerica.com!!!
Hey guys/ladies. This is our new internets. We have a good deal of news to catch you up on, so let’s do that.
We are very stoked to announce that we will be a part of Fest 9 in Gainesville, FL! Our scheduled slot is 8:00PM Friday October 29th, at 1982. Hope you all can make it and watch our friend Pugs shadowbox during our set. We will be doing a couple shows down to the Sunshine State in NJ and VA most likely. So, if you are in the area, come out! Limited edition vinyl as well as hoodies will be available, and I’m sure they will look awesome and compliment your neon hats.
Did you know that we have a Facebook page now? That dude gave all that money to Newark Public Schools when he should have given it to us, so we made an awesome profile that you can “Like,” “Poke,” “Tag,” and play “Bejeweled” against. Please check that out and read the interesting content that you should share with your friends. While we are talking about cool things you can do with your phone, follow us on the Twitter. @BanquetsAmerica
We still have our debut 7 inch, “This Is Our Concern, Dude,” available on Black Numbers, and only a few (yes, 4) copies of our 12 inch, “Nothing Is Fucked Here,” available on Coffeebreath and Heartache straight out of Germany. You can pick those up in our webstore.
Last, but not least, we will be recording our debut full–length in a few months. More details on that to come. Enjoy our new webzone and hope to see you out at a show!
